
Business / Merchant / Commercial Property Owner Organization Formed in West Palm Beach North End
On August 18, 2009, the North End Merchants Organization (NEMO) was formally established by a group of founding businesspersons and property owners located on and around the Broadway corridor in West Palm Beach, Florida. The organization is under the leadership of Co-Chairs John Freeland, business and property owner on Broadway, and P.R. Briscoe, owner of International Bankers, located at 5900 and Broadway.
The remaining founding members are: Dr. Gary T. Barrette, Board Chair; De George Boys & Girls Club; John Howard, Manager Metro PCS; Jodi Jimenez, Branch Manager, PNC/National City Bank; Lee Kvarnberg, Owner A1A, Inc. Architects; Keith Miller, Owner, Palm Beach Properties; Mickey Nolen, CEO/Owner, Nozzle Nolen; Bob Staples, Operations Manager, Nozzle Nolen; Mike Tarlitz, Executive Director, BRIC; and Jerry Wolf, Owner, Metro PCS.
The mission of NEMO is to provide member businesses, merchants and commercial property owners with services and benefits which promote, protect, and sustain the individual and collective interests of NEMO members and constituents in the north end of West Palm Beach, Florida.
NEMO's overarching goal is to establish a strong voice in determining the future direction and promoting the success of north end businesses, while acting as an advocate for merchants and commercial property owners along the Broadway corridor. NEMO is particularly focused on establishing functional connections and relationships with appropriate city and county government bodies, officials, and departments, in order to receive timely and pertinent information, promulgate proposals and deliver considered responses to and about the issues, challenges, and problems related to north end businesses.
Membership is open to any store-based business or merchant, home-based business, and commercial property owner, vacant or otherwise, located within the geographic boundaries described below... Membership dues for the first year are $25.00. Meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month, time and place to be determined.
The geographic boundary for NEMO membership is the area bordered by 26th Street and 59th Street, south to north, and by Flagler and Australian, east to west.
