Founded in 2000 as a community redevelopment non-profit organization, BRIC’s primary function is to facilitate socioeconomic revitalization in the low-income and blighted neighborhoods along the U.S. 1 corridor from Northwood Village in West Palm Beach to Silver Beach Road in Riviera Beach. In 2004, BRIC expanded its activities to include support to local businesses wishing to access various business and economic development financial incentives. In 2007, BRIC received a grant to assist in marketing the Florida Enterprise Zone benefits program and in 2009 BRIC received a grant through the Quantum Foundation that enabled us to increase our business development capacity. Currently BRIC is contracted with the Riviera Beach CRA. Additionally, BRIC has served as a consultant to the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency in a similar capacity - to support business attraction, development and retention.
As the north end of West Palm Beach and Riviera Beach transition toward a brighter economic future, BRIC works to increase public awareness about our great location, the growing marketplace, and on-going revitalization and beautification plans and business incentives. Communicating our progress is key to fostering the spirit and passion of our business owners and residents. BRIC assists with the dissemination of progress updates by hosting workshops and events as well as publishing a newsletter and marketing materials. BRIC was instrumental in founding NEMO (the North End Merchants Association). We actively support green building and sustainable growth. BRIC works along with Northwood Greenlife to foster these goals. BRIC is committed to attracting, developing and retaining a variety of viable businesses to enhance our community as it moves toward its full potential.
