BRIC is a not for profit organization which promotes and facilitates socio-economic revitalization through business development and job creation activities in commercial districts in the north end of West Palm Beach and in Riviera Beach. Maintaining a close relationship with local business leaders and government officials, BRIC represents your economic and business interests with The City of West Palm Beach and the Community Redevelopment Agency, as well as with the county and state. We work directly with local banks, real estate developers and brokers, the media and a variety of civic and non-profit organizations to seek effective solutions to economic problems and tackle issues affecting both our local business and social environments. BRIC facilitates access to grants and incentives and serves as a conduit to keep you informed on relevant topics, decisions and opportunities which impact business development in the North End.

City Of West Palm Beach

Founded by Henry Flagler in the early 1890’s, our city has a very rich history. Prior to the founding of Miami, West Palm Beach was known as a thriving cultural center. Pratt & Whitney, IBM, RCA and others helped put the city on the map in the late 1960s and 1970s. West Palm Beach is the most populous city in Palm Beach County, Florida. It is also the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida. West Palm's economy is currently ranked #4 in the Milken Institute Best Performing 296 U.S. Cities index. It is the county seat, and one of the principal cities in the South Florida metropolitan area, which has an estimated 2007 population of 5,413,212. Today West Palm Beach is once again a growing city. The skyline of the city beautiful is constantly changing. New residential buildings, condos, and attractions are common downtown, and an increasing number are being built. Between 2007 and 2008, West Palm Beach saw a 20% decrease in overall crime, and crime in the downtown entertainment area dropped by nearly 50%. City officials have stated publicly that additional police officers, the deployment of new public safety technology and citizen cooperation have all contributed to the significant drop in crime and the resurgence of the city's downtown and historic districts. The city recently built a new convention center along with a state-of-the art new downtown library and city hall. This is all apart of a City Center, that will include a waterfront park and docks, photographic & arts center, and new shops and entertainment.



Community Redevelopent Agencies

The City of West Palm Beach has adopted an aggressive redevelopment Strategic Finance Plan that targets specific project areas within the City CRA districts. BRIC is proud to work hand in hand with the CRA to implement the ultimate objective to improve the economic health and quality of life in the redevelopment districts of West Palm Beach. BRIC assists with the distribution of information regarding CRA grants and incentives as well as business retention and development in the north east section of West Palm Beach.
